Ching Stella, Ph.D. -- cofounder, president/managing director

Mark Stella -- cofounder, vice president/marketing director

SBL co-founders Ching Stella and Mark Stella have a son with Autism.  For 4 years, Ching and Mark created and managed an intensive intervention team.  The intervention was constructed via a comprehensive educational curriculum and the scientifically proven teaching method of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) with 40 hours of 1-on-1 teaching per week.  The team was composed of a group of highly talented and motivated professionals including consultants, tutors and parents.  Ching and Mark collaborated with private and public schools to establish most consistent and complimentary school programs in mainstream schools.  Their son is doing wonderfully.  Currently, he can naturally express his needs with spoken language as he continues to improve in expressing feelings.  He is self sufficient in daily living skills including getting dressed, personal hygiene, eating with manners, brushing teeth, etc.  He is learning reading and math skills at similar levels as his peers.  Their little boy also learned so many skills that his typical peers enjoy, such as riding a bike, swimming, soccer, gymnastics, etc.  Currently, he is attending elementary school with the help of an educational aide.  While there is still a lot of work ahead of them, Ching and Mark are optimistic in achieving their ultimate goal that their son will graduate from high school and go to college.  Four years of hard work has taught them that it is a daunting task to help a child with Autism.  It has been extremely difficult to find and maintain tutors, which has driven them to start a non-profit business to provide the children and their families with tutor services.

Ching is a senior scientist and Mark is a principal scientist with combined 40 service years at the Procter & Gamble Company.  They have more than 40 combined external scientific and patent publications.  At P&G, they have managed numerous research and product development projects with extensive people management experiences.  Their work has been recognized with numerous awards including the John Smale award and the contribution shares at P&G.
